If you read my opening post on the subject of my weight loss goals then you will know a little background already. If not let me just fill you in briefly or you can visit the opening article to read the full story. Basically I’ve been exercising and eating healthy for quite a few weeks now and I’ve reached a plateau in my weight loss, so I decided to start to journal my progress as a way to start. So this is my first weekly weigh in to see how I’m doing so far. So lets jump right into the measurements.
Starting Statistics
- Height: 5 Foot 7 Inches
- Weight: 182 Pounds (13 Stone)
- Chest: 39.5 Inches
- Waist: 38.5 Inches
- Thighs: 38.5 Inches
Statistics On Wednesday 15th June 2011
I’m not bothering to relist my height, I think I have bigger problems if that starts changing, I’m short enough as it is
- Weight: 181 Pounds (12 Stone & 13 Pounds)
- Chest: 39.5 Inches
- Waist: 38.5 Inches
- Thighs: 38.5 Inches
Overview
As you can see my measurements are the same but I have lost a pound in weight during the week. I’m not necessarily happy over this though as I haven’t had a great week in terms of exercise and food so I suspect this may be a loss in muscle mass instead of a loss in fat.
Food
Although it wasn’t too bad overall my diet wasn’t fantastic, I did manage to avoid any alcohol all week but I did consume some junk food on the weekend. To be honest the weekends are my biggest issue food wise, although I keep a fairly rigid food diary through the week, it tends to slip on the weekends and I find myself getting breakfast from McDonald’s or some other kind of fast food. Which I don’t necessarily berate myself for having, the occasional Starbucks or McDonald’s I think is ok, as long as I diary it and factor it into my calorie counts, which I don’t do on the weekends.
Exercise
Again it was not a good week for me in this respect. I didn’t really run at all last week. I did try and run on the weekend, however for whatever reason (probably the fast food I mentioned above), I just really struggled. However I feel better about this week, I went for an early morning run yesterday and I did my whole distance in a decent time and I felt much better afterwards for having done it. I hope that’s the end of the dip and I can get back into my routine of running every other morning, not only did I enjoy it immensely but I could also see that it is working.
In Summary
So that’s my week gone, not a overly successful one in terms of fitness and health, but not terrible either. My philosophy is that if I slip a little of the path, I don’t need to go back to the start, just find my step again and keep going and I hope that’s what I’ve done this week. Thanks for reading along, as always all comments are welcome and appreciated.
